Why I'm Running

Meet Lawrence Ethridge

I was about 14 years old and a young woman was walking down my block, as she got closer I could see she only had on a shirt, undergarments and shoes. As she approached me she asked, “Can you help me? I was just raped”. I ran in the house to get my mother, but the lady was gone by the time she came out. This has always stayed with me, and fueled my passion of wanting to help people. As a man, father, and husband, I believe it is one responsibility of many responsibilities that I not only protect my family, but also protect my community. I have spent more than 30 years of my life, defending the ideals of the United States Constitution, and protecting the people of Georgia. Clayton County is in my heart, and I want to protect the people. The men and women of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office deserve leadership that will demand excellence, teach best practices, identify exemplary acts, and be fair and impartial with discipline. Clayton County citizens deserves a Sheriff that will utilize their tax dollars on documented items, restore the infrastructure of the jail, protect the courts and rid the streets of criminal activity. I know I am the only candidate that will do this every hour every day and every year.
